Nicole Ari Parker has worked in television, film, and on stages. The actress is best known for her character Teri (the spirited lawyer) Joseph. The actress is known under her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. While growing up living in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always interested in acting. At a Maryland high school competition at the beginning of her schooling, she won the prize for best actress. The path to acting began when she worked in the Washington Ballet Company and the theater. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, her debut performance in a major film, won her great admiration. Films like Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark followed. The TV show Soul Food' was immensely well-received. Her appearances were in TV programs such as Second Time Around, and Empire. In the early years of her career she performed in various stage productions. Parker is tied to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. They have two kids together.

Contractor, born in Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and other cultures since a early age. She was educated in the boarding school of London between the ages of 7 and 9. Later, her family moved away from London in Toronto, Canada. Contractor studied and became a dancer of classical style in Toronto. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school where she was able to study more than just dance but also theater. At the age of 16, after nearly 10 years of dancing, Contractor decided to study acting professionally. After she completed high school and was awarded a full tuition scholarship to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degrees in Sociology and Psychology. Contractor was offered the leading part in Pericles after a one-year stint at the University. The audition was held for the role in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. The play was well-received throughout the 92 productions which she was a part of. The play won her the award in 2002 for the best production of the Year, as judged by Canadian critics. The conservatory in Stratford is home to eight males as well as four females along with a couple of others for a weeks of crash courses. The actress's spot in the next play season was secured and she won the role of Hermia.
